What it is
The Minimoog Voyager, released in 2002, was Bob Moog's modern reimagining of the Model D — the instrument that reintroduced Moog as a going concern. The Voyager is a robust modern instrument, so it's lower-risk than a vintage Minimoog, but there are specifics to check. The backlit panel and the touch surface are its signature features — confirm both work — and test the wheels, the pots, and that all three oscillators tune and track cleanly. Know the editions: the standard, the various Select Series and anniversary finishes, the Old School (no patch memory or MIDI, deliberately), and the compact Voyager RME differ in features and value, so read the title carefully. Ask about firmware and any servicing.

The Voyager is American-built, so it appears in Japan less often than home-grown gear, but it does surface on Yahoo Auctions and through Japanese dealers. Voltage runs both ways — a US unit is 117V and a Japanese-market unit is 100V — so confirm which you're buying.
